Metepec Pottery
COLLECTION DESCRIPTION
The Metepec Collection contains objects from two households as well as material obtained from informants and marketplace purchases. It came under the care of Temple's Anthropology Department in the summer of 1968 at the request of the chair, Jacob W. Gruber. The collection contains 130 ceramics pieces gathered by David Strug. 67 of these pieces come from two households. The ceramics that were obtained from the households were replaced by marketplace purchases of similar goods. The remaining 58 were gathered from informants and market purchases.
Additionally, the collection consists of jars, pots, pans, bowls, pitchers, a basket, plates, incense holders, a candlestick, and pottery tools.
